Welcome to my journey towards being a published fiction writer!
Who am I? I'm Juliet: an internationally published, award winning essayist and an Emmy nominated art director with a Masters in Anthropology.
After moving from Manhattan, my hometown, to Las Vegas (and I'm not sure how these things are connected), I found myself writing horror and fantasy. Shifting careers again, I hope to have my fiction published soon. So far, I've drafted one novel and several short stories are in the works. I'm still fairly new to the craft, so I have a lot to learn (despite my experience in making shit up). It seems writing fiction requires a different skill set. Learning these skills is my task at hand.
On the other end of the writing spectrum, I'm a technical writer currently working on a fascinating project that I'm not allowed to talk about.
Websites I frequent include:
The Free Dictionary I'm hooked on their match up game
Critters
Locus
SFWA
Places where I read short fiction include:
horror
Cemetery Dance
fantasy
The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction
Fantasy Magazine
Realms of Fantasy
Strange Horizons
fiction
The New Yorker
The Red Rock Review
Blackbird
Technical Writing Resources
Society for Technical Communication
